RESDA Expedition - 23 Engr Regt - Ex Gibraltar Diver 2010.

May 2010 saw 12 military personnel fly out to Gibraltar to dive the best that the Rock has to offer - they were not disappointed. Some had recently qualified as Ocean Divers and aimed to upgrade their qualification and experience to Sports diver. All succeeded their personnal aims and the aims of the expedition.

  • Massive Octopus mates with Shot Bag
    Trying to part blow the shot bag on a SS Excellent dive was interupted by this over friendly octopus. He was tempted (and proded) to move of the shot bag but was not interested - so he stayed and the bag remained empty.

  • Berties Plaque
    one the aims of the exped was to find Breties plaque on the SS Excellent. Bertie was a much loved member of GIB-UK (Pre-RESDA) who lost his fight with cancer in 2007. He asked for his ashes to be put on his favourite wreck dive. We went for a few more dives with Bertie while in Gibraltar and SS Excellent proved to be a favourite with us too.
